You may have heard the phrase ‘the next step is to Gazette this’ which means publishing an official notice. Examples include: a new policy, an academic post, a committee, an electoral board, a new vacancy, or a proposal to change regulations.

All University business is recorded and archived in the Gazette. You can view digital versions of back issues in the archive.

The Gazette is published online on Thursdays during term (September to July).

A mobile-friendly email précis is sent to subscribers each time a new issue is published.
How do I subscribe?
Anyone is welcome to subscribe to the Gazette, but please note that sections of the Gazette which relate to current students can only be viewed by current members of the University for data protection reasons. You can quickly set up your free staff subscription through the SYMPA mailing list.

What event format do I need to use?
The Gazette publishes a Lectures Supplement with the 0th week issue each term in which we aim to include all lectures and seminars for the term. You can find detailed information on how to style events correctly online.
Do you have a schedule of publication dates?
36 issues are published each academic year. A table of all volumes and deadlines for contributors is available on the Gazette website.
